St. Johns has always felt like a second home to me. My parents are from the Caribbean, so even though I didn’t grow up there myself, I spent many visits surrounded by its rhythms, its waters, and its warmth. Each trip back was a reminder of where I come from and the traditions that shaped my family long before me.
The island carries a sense of calm that is different from anywhere else I have been. The beaches, the sunsets, and the easy pace of life made every visit feel like pressing pause. It reminded me of the importance of slowing down, appreciating the moment, and reconnecting with the parts of myself that are tied to family and heritage.
